Alaska Libraries Partner With GPO to Preserve Government Information

04/24/25  Two libraries in Alaska — the Alaska State Court Law Library and the Alaska State Library — have entered into agreements with GPO to become Preservation Stewards. To help libraries meet the needs of efficient Government document stewardship in the digital era, GPO has established Preservation Stewards to support continued public access to U.S. Government documents in print format.

04/17/25  U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern has appointed five new members to the Depository Library Council (DLC). DLC members advise the GPO Director on policy matters relating to the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) and access to U.S. Government information.

GPO Director Presents FY2026 Appropriations Request to Congress

04/09/25  The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern presented GPO’s FY 2026 appropriations request before the U.S. House Subcommittee on Legislative Branch Appropriations. Director Halpern requested appropriations in the amount of $135,377,000, a 2.6 percent increase over GPO’s FY 2025 appropriation.
